The Province of Manitoba has partnered with End Homelessness Winnipeg and other Indigenous organizations on a new, Indigenous-led resource that will offer much-needed warming space for people experiencing homelessness this winter at 190 Disraeli Freeway. Miigwetch and Kinanâskomitin to the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, the Downtown Community Safety Partnership, Ogijiita Pimatiswin Kinamatwin (OPK), Comm.UNITY.204, Anishiative, Aboriginal Health & Wellness Centre and others for making this initiative possible. A Community Care Camp with warming tipis is now open 24/7; and indoor warming spaces are anticipated to open by December 1.
