| End Homelessness Winnipeg Newsletter: April 2022 View this newsletter on Mailchimp *NEW* Spring Resource Guide A winter storm alert has been issued for Winnipeg, with blizzard conditions forecast to begin Tuesday night through to Friday, April 15. 30-50cm of snow is anticipated, along with gusting winds, poor visibility and colder temperatures. If you venture outdoors in these conditions, please keep an eye out for others who may be at risk due to the weather. Know how to recognize and respond to signs of frostbite or hypothermia; and know how to access critical services like mobile outreach, shelters, safe spaces, drop-ins and meals. Please note the following changes affecting listed services this week: Main Street Project at 637 Main is currently offering door service only 24/7. Shelter services will be offered 24/7 at Weetamah, 324 Logan, Wednesday, Thursdy and Friday WE24 at 430 Langside is closed overnights this week, resuming Sunday, April 17 11p-7a Velma’s House at 154 Sherbrook is closed this week, with plans to reopen Tuesday, April 19 WCWRC Drop-in at 640 Ellice is closed April 15-18 and Outreach is off the road April 14, 15, 18Street Connections office at 496 Hargrave is closed April 15 and 18 and Outreach will be off the road those days but will be out on Saturday April 16 from 4-10:30pm Download a poster showing signs and responses for frostbite and hypothermia here.   |

Hope for Housing? Ask Our Politicians Event, April 21
There is a housing crisis in Manitoba. What leadership is government offering? This is the question being posed by the Hope for Housing event on April 21. Join Provincial Minister of Families Rochelle Squires and Winnipeg South MP Terry Duguid along with City of Winnipeg Councillor Markus Chambers (St. Norbert – Seine River) at a local housing forum on Thursday, April 21 at 7pm at the United Church of Meadowood, 1111 Dakota Street.
